Outdoor Education!

The Outdoor Education Program at Warm Beach Camp offers schools a safe platform for their students to explore and grow as individuals, while surrounded by rich biodiversity. During “The Great Pioneer Skills Challenge” class, a middle school student was interested in attempting to make a quilting square. The individual had always been curious to sew but had no one to show them the way. Through trial and error and the help of volunteer staff, the child completed the sewing task with a deep sense of satisfaction.

This accomplishment may seem insignificant to some, but the lasting effects it can have on an individual are lifelong! Much like the sewing task, a student’s success in completing various tasks through the Outdoor Education Program builds confidence in the individual, allowing them to feel the safety of taking on more challenges. This is the heart of experiential learning and what the Outdoor Education Program offers so beautifully to the schools stepping onto the grounds.

The foundation of the Outdoor Education Program is the belief that students learn best in an emotionally and physically safe environment. This atmosphere allows students to take risks and try something they normally would not. Additionally, taking chances with the support of their group fosters friendships to blossom, shared smiles, and newfound confidence.

With Spring right around the corner, schools will be arriving soon to participate in the Outdoor Education Program again. The passion, kindness, and expertise of the Outdoor Education staff and trained volunteers foster a healthy learning environment for each student. Please keep the Outdoor Education staff in your prayers that Christ would work through them and the students traveling to Warm Beach Camp Ministries would be transformed and renewed by His abounding presence.

God Speaks through Rosie

I have recently been given the opportunity to work with Rosie, one of our newer horses that we are bringing along in training here at the Warm Beach Horsemanship barn. I am always excited to get to know a new horse and their personality. However, it didn’t take long to realize this sweet mare harbored a lot of anxiety and worry. I tried to coax her into calmness with gentleness and patience, but she still didn’t fully trust me. When ...
