Program Staff

Youth Camp Facilitator: Assistant to Field Program Coordinator in implementing Junior and Jr. High camp programs. Responsibilities include planning daily activity schedules, delegating leadership to counselors, supervising staff, building a sense of teamwork, discipline of campers and counselors when needed, site preparations for games and events, and operation of camp store. Completion of two years of college desirable.

Day Camp Facilitator: Assistant to Field Program Coordinator in implementing day camp programs. Responsibilities include planning daily activity schedules, delegating leadership to counselors, supervising staff, building a sense of teamwork, discipline of campers and counselors when needed, site preparations for games and events, and operation of camp store. Completion of two years of college desirable.

Horse Camp Facilitator: Gives leadership and organization to all non horse-related camp functions such as Bible studies, candy store, chapel, games, ect. Supervises and counsels horse camp program staff. Cultivates proper spiritual emphasis in horse camp. Completion of two years college desirable.

Program Counselor: Primarily responsible for supervision of campers in cabin setting (Jr-Jr High age) or group settings (K-4th grade). Lead Bible studies, seminars, recreation, singing, ect. Must be mature and conscientious with deep love for and servant's heart toward youth. Completion of one year of college desirable.

Horse Camp Counselor: Primarily responsible for supervision of horsemanship campers (5th grade to high school) during non horse-related activities. Assist and/or lead Bible studies, seminars, recreation, singing, ect. Must be self-motivated, mature, and conscientious with deep love for and servant's heart toward young people. Must enjoy being around horses; riding ability not required. Completion of one year college desirable.

Operational Staff

Wrangler: Includes teaching horsemanship (using CHA standards), taking out trail rides, training young horses, retraining older horses, stable maintenance, and horse health care. Previous experience preferred.

Maintenance: Involved in grounds keeping (mowing, watering, ect.) and light maintenance duties, program duties as assigned.

Accommodations: Keeps all buildings, cabins, meeting rooms, and restrooms clean and in order. Sets up chairs, tables, and audio-visual equipment for guest use. Assist with light security, vending machines, and meeting guest group needs, including towel exchange. Includes evening and night work.

Food Service:

Outcamp Driver: Total responsibility for serving meals to one of three satellite youth camps. Food is transported via special food vans from main kitchen. Includes some kitchen rotation. Must have good driving record and provide us with a driving abstract from the Department of Motor Vehicles.

Dining Room Server: Involves setting up dinning room, serving food to guests, cleaning up, dish washing, and mopping.

Kitchen Worker: Assists cooks in food preparation, dishing up of food in main dinning room, kitchen clean-up, pot washing, and mopping, Rotates into bakeshop.

Recreation:

Lifeguard: Maintain an atmosphere of safety at the swimming pool by enforcing pool rules, providing patron surveillance and a readiness to respond to aquatics emergencies. Lead canoe sessions, enforce canoe rules, provide patron surveillance and keep gear clean, maintained, and orderly. Open and close mini golf course, ensure high level of customer service. Current lifeguard certification required.

Facilitator: Technically proficient at working all areas of challenge course including:  initiatives, low elements, high elements, high circuit and climbing tower. Demonstrate competency to belay/spot the previously mentioned elements and activities, set up all gear on the ground and use appropriate knots to set up belay stations. Current lifeguard certification strongly recommended.
